The EXPLORE Summer School took place in a Marathon, Greece, from June 30 to July 5, 2024. Besides being an opportunity for personal development, it also allowed participating teachers from Austria, Greece, and Portugal to meet each other, learn about this exciting project, and plan an analog mission to explore Mars.

Our partner trainers fully introduced the project, presenting both toolkits, virtual and online, to the teachers.

Sessions covered a variety of subjects, including all the requirements and procedures for an analog mission. Specific workshops focused on communication methods, on planning a traverse (i.e. a scientific mission outside the habitat), on donning and doffing the space suit (i.e. put it on and removing it) and more.

This provided the participants with ample information to begin planning a full-day mission on the final day.

It was an incredibly and very fruitful week!
