For the European Researchers Night 2024 on 27 September, Ellinogermaniki Agogi in Greece organized an impressive event. Among a variety of activities and projects, EXPLORE was presented.
Participants of all ages had the opportunity to discuss analogue missions and learn why they are important for space exploration. They saw a real spacesuit used in a mission conducted by the Austrian Space Forum (OeWF), the lead partner for the EXPLORE project. They also took part in an exercise to feel the different gravities of Mars, Moon and the Earth, guided a group of astronauts back to their shelter using the shortest route—and launched a spaceship to Mars via an online app!
The feedback from the participants was positive and they were impressed by the analogue missions that take place on Earth and prepare scientists and humanity for Mars exploration.
EXPLORE was also featured at the European Researchers Night 2024 in Oeiras, Portugal, captivating visitors at the NUCLIO stand throughout the evening.
Participants were especially drawn to the projects’ innovative methodologies and engaging exercises designed to simulate real-life space challenges. The event highlighted the exciting educational opportunities offered by the EXPLORE project, sparking curiosity and inspiration among aspiring scientists of all ages.
